As part of its Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget FY 2023, the PICCI conducted a three-day Gender Sensitivity Training of its new employees on September 25 to 27, 2023 with Atty. Mylen B. Gonzales-Esquivel at the Fernando Ma. Guerrero Room, 3rd Floor, Delegation Building, PICC, Pasay City.
The training introduced to the participants GAD concepts, awareness of gender-related issues, and ways to promote gender equality in the workplace. Compared to the training conducted in 2017 and 2019, this year’s training included the topics of sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression so that the participants will have a deeper appreciation of the concepts and how they affect gender roles, gender biases and gender issues. Another highlight of the training was the discussions on the Republic Act 7877, also known as the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995, and the Republic Act 11313, or the Safe Spaces Act.
Through its year-round GAD programs, the PICCI aims to bring its employees and outsourced personnel on board in its efforts to foster a gender sensitive and inclusive culture and working environment.
